Growing up in a rather creative family and could always be found doing some sort of craft or creative project. Always drawn to painting, I never thought I could actually be good at it. (Thank you Imposter Syndrome).

A bout of depression had me searching for things to bring color to my life. During the pandemic, I found an artist I absolutely adore, Jessi Raulet/EttaVee, was offering online classes. She uses such wonderful color and her paintings make me so happy, that I jumped at the chance to paint like her. So I signed up.

And I fell in love.

Apparently just because I can't paint a perfect portrait or an impressive still life doesn't mean I can't paint. And the painting was just for me. It helped me work through and express feelings; express myself through color.

Using her Happy Abstracts book, I started exploring more in techniques and textures, colors and movement. And I had so much fun.

Painting has become not only an emotional outlet, but a creative one as well. It's rare that a week goes by and I haven't at least done a small little painting.

At the beginning of 2021 I started my Etsy shop, Mingled Whimsy. And in the spring of 2021 I had my first art display at a local coffee shop.

I've experimented with different surfaces, most recently having a lot of fun with glass ball ornaments. Experimenting with Procreate has also been fun for those times where I'm itching to paint but am unable to get to my supplies.

Using Procreate led me to start designing fabric and opening a Spoonflower profile.

I'm not sure what comes next on this painting adventure, but I have no doubt it will be colorful and whimsical.
